My Story
Mission
I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t obsessed with interiors— how rooms look, how they feel, and how living within them shapes your day. Your favorite bedding and pillows. Your ultimate espresso cup and saucer, with the cutest spoon. The seat at the table that has the garden view. These small preferences tailored to you shape your sense of contentment and ease — and the reverse is just as true.
That’s why I believe in actively curating our environment, choosing only what we truly love for our homes. But in a world of endless choices, mass production, and social comparison, that can feel overwhelming.
I created The Salt Road to edit out the noise — and point you toward the best objekts I can find; a selection and curation you won’t see in other places with the sole purpose of perfecting your environment, which in turn will impact your contentedness, and eventually your life. It’s a lofty goal I know, but I’m certain that together we can create this!
Throughout this site, I use the word objekt — a small nod to years spent living in the Netherlands and Switzerland, where the word, and the way people relate to the things they keep, first shaped how I see a well-made object.
Biography
I’ve been passionate about design since childhood, when I regularly rearranged my room — and, when my parents allowed it, the rest of the house. Summer holidays in Mexico, France, and Italy first opened my eyes to a more awareness in the ways of living. Married life brought me back to Europe in 2012, where I began attending design fairs in Milan, Copenhagen, Brussels, and Paris, building relationships with merchants and makers. From there, I ventured into parts of Africa and the Middle East, widening my appreciation for various aesthetics.
Travel has shaped how I interpret design, and taught me to observe my environment — seeking inspiration in the forests of the Var as readily as the streets of Milan and the souks of Marrakesh. Join me on the Salt Road to find the best way of living life.
